Meet the CHAMBER TEAM

Kathy Guzman

PRESIDENT & CEO

Kathy is a communications, media, sales and marketing, and relationship-building expert with more than 25 years of extensive experience. She has worked for several higher education institutions, local broadcast and print media organizations, and various nonprofit organizations throughout the country. This includes working with the Charles County Chamber as their member services manager where she significantly increased membership and saw the average attendance grow to 75-100 participants each month at the chamber’s networking mixers.

From 2005-2022, Guzman was in the advertising sales department for the Maryland Independent (Southern Maryland News - APG Media). She started as an advertising sales representative and was appointed as the advertising sales manager in 2008. Kathy not only had the opportunity to work with a wide range of businesses and government agencies in Charles County, but she was named salesperson of the month and year several times for Charles County as well as salesperson of the year for the Southern Maryland division of APG Chesapeake two years in a row. Prior to working with Southern Maryland News, she served as the director of development and management with Lifestyles of Maryland, Inc., and as a business services analyst with Electronic Data Systems where she led a team to develop a bilingual (English/Spanish) tutorial for international students entering the United States on a student visa.

Guzman holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bethune-Cookman University and a Master of Arts from the University of Northern Iowa.

Marie Domenech

Operations Manager

Being an operations manager is exactly what you'd think it's like! I am the colleague at work that everyone wants to know but nobody wants to be. If you want something done, you come to me -- everyone knows that!

As an organizational enthusiast, I keep myself on track and I am able to make my colleagues' lives easier. There aren't many things that can grow a company the way trust and dependability can, and I pride myself on being dedicated to both.My favorite thing to do is to help people -- and that help presents itself in a variety of ways. I want to help people succeed and I will go out of my way to ensure that.

Prior to my current role, I spent 15 years in higher education and have experience in admissions, academic affairs, work-based learning, student life, orientation, and international recruitment and retention.
